GROUND OF BEING
“The God who made the world and all that is in it, this Noble One who holds heaven and earth, does not dwell in sanctuaries made by human hands, nor has any need to be served by them. Rather it is God who gives to everyone life and breath--indeed, everything--and made from one the great diversity of humankind, to dwell all over the earth’s surface, and appointed exactly when and where they should live. All this, so that people might yearn for and perhaps even grope about to actually find God. But, of course, God is not really far away from any one of us. For, according to some of your own poets, ‘In God we live and move and have our being,’ and ‘We too are God’s offspring.’ (Acts 17:24-28; The Ashland Bible)
